CSA Concludes First Year, Looks Ahead to Future
May 15th, 2025
PROSPER HIGH SCHOOL - On Thursday, The Prosper High School Catholic Students Association held their end of year celebration. The event concluded the first year of CSA at Prosper High School. Members enjoyed pizza, courtesy of club sponsor Mrs. DeMarco, as well as snacks and dessert brought by other club members. Sophomore Evan Lie enjoyed the fellowship with fellow members. “I enjoyed the food, games, and most importantly, interactions with my fellow Catholics.”
CSA started as a club in November 2024. The club held its first meeting on November 21. At CSA’s Christmas meeting on December 19th, the group welcomed their first guest speaker, Mr. Michael DeMarco, a Catholic convert and son of club sponsor Mrs. DeMarco. The group also welcomed PHS principal Mr. Jones as well as Prosper ISD superintendent Dr. Holly Ferguson at that meeting. From priests to deacons to Catholic converts, CSA heard from many other dynamic guest speakers throughout the year. “I enjoyed the fellowship and for me to learn more about Catholicism,” sophomore Daniel Lee said. CSA also hosted a spring social at Topgolf last week.
Catholics Prosper Together is CSA’s campaign for 2025. It represents the group’s commitment to unifying and growing as a Catholic community within Prosper ISD. The branding style will be used throughout CSA content in the future as well as the new CatholicsProsperTogether.com, which will launch later this year.
Sophomore Ava Lundy said CSA was a great opportunity to grow as a Catholic community at PHS. “This club was a very fun experience to get together with other students around the school and discuss and grow deeper into our Catholic faith,” Lundy said. She hopes students will continue to grow in the Catholic faith. “If you are interested in learning more about the Catholic faith and meeting new people, you should come and join us at our meetings next year.” Those returning to PHS next year will enjoy a special guest appearance as the club welcomes Bishop Michael F. Olson, the bishop of the Dioceses of Fort Worth.
CSA will also expand to the new Richland High School in the fall as it continues its vision of uniting PISD students around the Catholic faith. The two groups will share a unified approach to learning about the faith. At both groups, members can expect more fun and faith-based content as CSA takes the next steps into the future.
